What you will be doing:

Engineering Leadership in the Age of AI.

You're joining Alignable as we're integrating AI throughout our platformleading a team that builds the user experiences and systems bringing AI-powered features to life for 9+ million small business owners.

Your Leadership Role: As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll lead, manage, and grow one of our dynamic Feature Teams where Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers collaborate on complete product areas. You'll set technical direction for how your team approaches AI-integrated systemsguiding architecture decisions while ensuring your engineers build the frontend interfaces, APIs, and full-stack features that make our AI-enabled Relationship Coach accessible and powerful.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Our Engineering department works in these dynamic Feature Teams, and as a leader, you'll guide both technical strategy and team execution. Picture this: A Product Manager discovers restaurant owners using AI recommendations generate 3x more referrals. The UX Designer sketches how to surface those insights in an intuitive interface. Marketing shares what prospects get excited about in demos. Your job? Lead your team's technical approacharchitecting the solution, mentoring engineers as they build the frontend dashboards and APIs that serve AI recommendations, and ensuring the end-to-end system meets both user needs and engineering excellence standards.

Team Development: You'll combine a highly collaborative mindset with a relentless pursuit of shipping software, working closely with product management, design, growth marketing, and business partners to set and accomplish evolving strategic goals. We're looking for someone who can lead technical discussions about how AI should feel to users, champion data-driven decisions across teams, and grow high-performing engineers who understand what's possible when combining solid engineering practices with intelligent systems.

• You will partner with product and design to drive the technical and business outcome of the work your team will be doing.
• You will demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, design specifications and architecture diagrams for high performing applications.
• You will break up the work in ways that everyone on the team can be productive and work efficiently.
• You will perform code reviews and level up the code delivered by the team via mentoring and coaching.
• You will develop proficiency in our technology to enable coding more algorithmically/architecturally challenging features.
• You will bring AI experience and best practices to enable the teams to move fast.
  
  

• You have 5-8+ years of experience as a full stack software developer in OOP; Ruby, Elixir, or React proficiency is a plus.
• You have at least 2+ years of mentorship experience; at least one of which was in a true Team Lead/Technical Lead role where you were also responsible for stakeholder management.
• You have experience working very closely with Product teams; experience driving Product requirements independently is a plus.
• You are deeply obsessed with doing what is right for customers.
• You have proficient oral and written communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• You have demonstrated the ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a dynamic environment.
• You have the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse, talented team.
• You have experience in Agile/Scrum enterprise-scale software development.
• You have experience building and operating scalable software.
• You have demonstrated the ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
• You have experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• You have hands-on experience with Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) and understand how to apply these technologies in real-world applications.
• [Bonus] You have prior experience working closely with Marketing teams and/or enhancing marketing technology, CMS, and tooling.
