Stanford University and the Department of Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Software Engineer on a 1 year fixed term to help develop and maintaining scalable, production-grade frontend and backend systems to help support autism research in AI. The Software Engineer will work with the PI and otherstaff members to execute all programming tasks, including programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, modifying, and maintaining computer programs.
The School of Medicines Department of Psychiatry and The School of Engineering Computer Sciences group at Stanford have collaborated over the last seven years to develop modules for verbal individuals on the autism spectrum. They are currently refining, researching, and developing additional modules to show that the AI modules are effective and generalize to human conversation. One Randomized Clinical Trial has been published and smaller studies are currently being implemented with the goal of providing accessible and effective treatment to autistic adolescents and adults.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Expertise in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
Proficiency with application design and data modeling.
Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.
Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients.
Ability to lead activities on structured team development projects.
Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
Knowledge of application domain.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is$138,402 to $163,985 per annum for the Stanford Work Location.
The expected pay range for this position is $115,177 to $147,636 per annum, covering the spread for all regions excluding Stanford Work Location & with remote work arrangement.
